Race & Course OverviewThe Anaconda Adventure Race at the Gold Coast will take competitors on a off road adventure through the lush hinterland wilderness and rural retreats bordering the Pacific coast, showcasing a side of the Gold Coast few ever knew existed!
Competitors follow an off road course with more variety than a box of chocolates as they make their way along flowing trails of single track in beautiful eucalypt forest, over lung busting hills with extensive views to the city, through stunning rainforest thick with strangler figs and tree ferns and along golden beaches flanked by curling waves and palm trees.
Starting and finishing at the Tugun Surf Club, sections of the course have been redesigned for 2008 to provide a challenging yet uniquely rewarding off road escapade for everyone. So if you wand a bit more adventure in your life – you’ve just found it. Lets get it on!
Choose your style and get involved - the Anaconda Adventure Race can be completed in a range of categories to get anyone and everyone to onto the start then over the finish line:
- Individuals – do every leg as a non stop race around the track. Designed for heros and want-to-bes
- Pairs – do every leg but in the company of your mate who’s by your side the whole way round
- Relay teams – with up to 4 people where you do one (or more) legs each. A great way to get involved without being a super hero – build up a team of friends and work colleagues and join all the fun

Course FamiliarisationOur famously popular familiarisation session is set to take place on Sunday July 20th kicking off at 9:00 am from the Tugun Surf Club. This is a really great way to get fit, meet some poeple and go over the course all at one so mark it in your diary and get ready for action. Full details can be found here.
Paddling3 time Uncle Toby's Ironman series champion and converted adventure racer Guy Andrews runs regular paddling lessons in his "GA's Ski School" program. These sessions allow paddlers of all levels to get out and be a part of a regular training group. Sessions include both a fitness / training component as well as a skill / technique component. Surf ski's can be hired from Guy's personal stash if you don't have one of your own to bring along so there's no excuse for those of you who think the paddling part is the barrier between you and an individual Anaconda Adventure Race finish.
