Kona Shorty results: Team Torq dominate men’s, Rhodes returns from injury for women’s win

In the 50km Kona Shorty, Team Torq dominated the men’s with the orange and black-clad Jack Haig and Robbie Hucker crossing the line in a time of 2:16:16 in what looked like a dead heat to the eye. Eliza Jenkins, however, does. Take a look back at the rap sheet - the one worth looking at in the form of the results record - and it's clear that Chris 'Jungleblood' Jongewaard is the man to beat on the Kona Odyssey course come 18th February. He's won every event he's entered on the Otway slopes (2008, 2009, 2011). The first year he didn't compete and 2010 he was unfortunately still legging it on the wind trainer in custody. She may not have raced at the Anaconda Adventure Race Series Finale on the weekend, but the glowing presence of Victorian Deanna Blegg loomed large with the knowledge that no matter the outcome on Lorne’s adventure playground, it would be her accepting the 2011 Series Title Trophy come the end of the day.
